Edward Scissorhands
is a 1990 American gothic romantic fantasy film directed by Tim Burton. It was produced by Burton and Denise Di Novi, written by Caroline Thompson from a story by her and Burton, and starring Johnny Depp, and Winona Ryder. It tells the story of an unfinished artificial humanoid who has scissor blades instead of hands, is taken in by a suburban family, and falls in love with their teenage daughter.
Edward Scissorhands was a critical and commercial success. The film won the many awards in addition to receiving multiple nominations at the Academy Awards. Both Burton and Dany Elfman consider Edward Scissorhands their most personal and favorite work.
This is my favorite Tim Burton movie.
For this challenge I wanted to recreate Edward's castle because all the magic is here. The first meeting of Peg, the landscaped garden, the mythical scene of the hands offered by the inventor (This scene is my favorite, it is unique because it determines the whole story), the ice sculpture...
But Tim Burton is also one of the greatest directors of his time so I also wanted there to be his minifig.
The set consists of a
360° castle
with a fully decorated interior + a small version of the famous village that opens the film.
The project makes just under 5000 pieces! It was difficult work because there is not much representation and few images of the castle from all angles. I did my best.
With this set, you can recreate all the cult scenes from the film
