大蓝鹭

I've always been fascinated by the prehistoric majesty of Ardea herodias , the Great Blue Heron. It's long been a goal of mine to design one as I love the challenge of rendering complex organic shapes in LEGO. I utilized a Technic core and a variety of hinge and ball-joint connections to get all the various body parts to flow together as seamlessly as possible.

This model depicts the giant wading bird perched at the edge of a river, scanning for an afternoon snack. The turtle at it's feet, realizing this isn't the best spot to sun itself, and has decided to make its exit.

I think this would not only make for a fun build, but the completed model works well as a stand-alone display piece and would make a great gift for bird enthusiasts, nature lovers, and more.
