1) WHAT IS IT?

This is a LEGO brick representation of the Stonewall National Monument as it appears today, one year before its 10th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026.

Stonewall National Monument is a U.S.A. monument in New York City. The area officially includes the Stonewall Inn, Christopher Park, and nearby streets including Christopher Street (places that commemorate the historical rilevance of equality and inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ people). Description of the work

This work is a tribute to those places and values , and with its approximately 3,750 pieces, it represents:

the Stonewall Inn, the building that still today houses a bar bearing the name of the original;
Christopher Street, a vibrant street filled with significance;
Christopher Park, the park that now provides a space of relaxation for visitors, and the Gay Liberation sculpture by artist George Segal;

2) WHY DID YOU BUILD IT?

As an amateur artist, I use LEGO bricks to create mostly minifigure-scale artworks, set in an imaginary world of peace, love, respect, and LGBTQIA+ representation (click on the name “Feacebricks” in this page to see my bio and links). The Stonewall National Monument in bricks is the definitive celebration of diversity and equality, a vibrant symbol of inclusivity and acceptance, set in the present day.

3) WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT LEGO SET?

Representing this iconic place with a LEGO set is a opportunity to combine creativity, play, and education, while also telling the everyday lifes of LGBTQIA+ people, and sharing stories that inspires people around the world.

The model includes faithful details , such as the facade of the Stonewall Inn with its iconic windows (and two customisable flags), Christopher Street with its rainbow-colored pedestrian crosswalks and its brown street sign, Christopher Park with its symbolic sculptures and the fence with signs displaying commemorative dates, offering builders a journey through history and a celebration of diversity.
