孟加拉国国民议会（Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban）

Bangladesh is home to one of the Architectural masterpieces of the 20th Century, but it is not represented in LEGO. It's time to change that.

Louis I. Kahn is renowned as one of the greatest architects of the 20th Century, and a master of the Brutalism style.

The Bangladesh National Parliament building (Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban, জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন) was one of his final great achievements. Construction began in 1961, was halted during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, and finally completed in 1982, after his death.

He wished to represent Bangladeshi culture and heritage in this building. Its exterior has a monumental yet simple feel. Its walls reveal surprising geometric shapes that allow for a complex interplay of light inside. The artificial lake, from which the building appears to rise, recalls the riverine beauty of Bangladesh.

Bangladeshis feel very deeply about this building. To them, it is more than a parliament house; it is a symbol of stability, dignity, and greatness.

I am certain that most Bangladeshis at home and abroad will be inspired to see their monument in LEGO. Moreover, I believe that any lovers of Louis Kahn and modern architecture will enjoy having this iconic building as part of their LEGO collections.

জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় সংসদের প্রধান ভবন। এটি ঢাকার শেরে-বাংলা নগর এলাকায় অবস্থিত। প্রখ্যাত মার্কিন স্থপতি লুই কান এটির মূল স্থপতি। তৎকালীন পূর্ব পাকিস্তান (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ) ও পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের (বর্তমান পাকিস্তান) আইনসভার জন্য জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের নির্মাণ শুরু হয় ১৯৬১ সালে। ১৯৮২ সালের ২৮শে জানুয়ারি নির্মাণ কাজ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর একই বছরের ১৫ই ফেব্রুয়ারি বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় সংসদের অষ্টম (এবং শেষ) অধিবেশনে প্রথম সংসদ ভবন ব্যবহৃত হয়। তখন থেকেই আইন প্রণয়ন এবং সরকারি কর্মকাণ্ড পরিচালনার মূল কেন্দ্র হিসাবে এই ভবন ব্যবহার হয়ে আসছে। লুই কান কমপ্লেক্সের অবশিষ্ট অংশের ডিজাইন করেন। জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন জাতীয় সংসদ কমপ্লেক্সের একটি অংশ। কমপ্লেক্সের মধ্যে আরো আছে সুদৃশ্য বাগান, কৃত্রিম হ্রদ এবং সংসদ সদস্যদের আবাসস্থল।
